Description

Comfrey infused oil can assist in the healing of sprains, strains and bruising of muscles, and ligament and tendon damage.

It can also be beneficial in reducing scar tissue (new and old scars), swelling and bruises. Comfrey increases the rate of new cell growth, speeding the recovery,  healing and repair to damaged tissue.

The allantoin in Comfrey is renowned historically for the healing of fractured, chipped or cracked bones and the treatment of splints. Comfrey oil has been used for fractured bones or torn ligaments in areas of the body where it is not possible to place a cast, such as a rib. It can be applied directly onto the skin potentially promoting faster healing. It can also assist in the healing of torn muscles.  Comfrey is known as 'Knitbone' for this very reason.

Comfrey should not be applied to open wounds. Caution should be taken when it comes to deep wounds as the oil can heal the skin so quickly that the new tissue may cover the wound before deep healing inside resulting in an abscess or skin infection.
